Hello everyone, it’s been a long time since my last post, and for that, I apologize. I’ll explain briefly what's been going on these last few months.
In summary, I got unmotivated to do any photography-related work. With doing my day job as an e-commerce photographer, taking online photo courses for portfolio building, and chasing assistant/seconding shooting opportunities.
I always felt like I was great at my craft and that I was destined to keep pursuing photography as a main career path but after working as a photographer for an online business I simply began to resent all of this. Losing my passion for a paycheck. But always staying optimistic about keeping this piece of myself to keep the joy it used to give me and expressing myself in ways I never could vocally.
In July, I began to finally feel inspired again. Realizing that I can plan and write down all these ideas of images in my head all I want but that won’t make me a photographer. I couldn’t keep saying I’m a photographer and not having any recent work to show to prove it. I had to get out and begin shooting again in order to feel like my old self. So I decided why not give myself some joy in my life and start doing photo walks on film? And that’s exactly what I did. I decided to hold all these images till the end of summer to post as one big blog post to display what my summer in the South looks like. So here that is.
I’m not going to sign off here by saying work is coming again soon because I simply don’t know when that’ll be. Once I travel again? I have no clue but I guess sometimes all we have to do is wait. At some point you to just have to get out there and shoot, even if you don’t have a plan. Even if you don’t have a plan. Just walk a neighborhood listening to a Taylor Swift album and hoping a loose dog doesn’t chase you, but that’s a story for a different post.
Anyways, thanks for reading, and hope you enjoyed the photos.
