Hello readers!
I recently took a short trip down to the New River Gorge National Park located in Fayetteville, West Virginia. This trip was extremely random for me. I booked the trip 3 days prior, which I almost never do due to the lack of weather predictability and the nerves of my first solo trip. However, I can say almost two weeks later that this trip was indeed a great decision.
This trip consisted of breathtaking scenery, fantastic food, and some small self-discovery.
The scenery of the fall at its peak was something that I never got to truly experience living in California. Being able to experience those fall colors was great. The various hiking trails I took provided photographic opportunities and some much-needed mental reflection. During my first and only night actually, I was able to sit on top of a mountain with very minimal company. This company consisted of 3 other photographers. It was nice to have fellow photographers there capturing the same scenic sunset, and the glimpse of a full moon beginning to appear for the evening.
The time spent away from my daily routine was helpful. Had some amazing pizza down at Pies & Pints in downtown Fayetteville that I can’t recommend enough to anyone passing through. In regards to my personal life, not much has happened since my summer on 35mm film post a few months back. I remain in the same situation with my life as I try to find things worth shooting again. Anyways, till next time folks!
